About us

Make It Happen! Wedding Coordination and More… is a culmination of thirty years of event planning experience and a dream come true. A French major at UCLA, Robin’s dream was to work in Europe. After graduation, she moved to France in search of a job. Upon her return to California, Robin worked as an Education Specialist for IBM and as a result, fell in love with teaching. She returned to UC Irvine to complete her secondary teaching credential and taught French at Mission Viejo High School and Orange Coast Community College.

Robin’s work in event planning began in northern California in 1981. Her lengthy planning career includes Director of Catering Sales at Maxwell’s Plum, formerly of Ghirardelli Square, Wedding Sales Specialist at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley, Assistant Director of Catering at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, Texas, Director of Catering Sales and Marketing for UCLA Catering, and Wedding Sales Specialist at the Sir Francis Drake, a Kimpton Hotel, where she was voted “Best of Weddings” by the Knot in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Robin worked as the Wedding Sales Specialist at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square. Brides voted her and the St. Francis “Best of Weddings 2013”… their very first award from The Knot under Robin’s watch. After four years of a long daily commute from her home to San Francisco and nearly 500 career weddings to her credit, Robin decided to make a lifetime dream come true by finally launching a business of her own, Make It Happen! And, this news just in, Make It Happen! and Robin have been inducted into The Knot’s Wedding Hall of Fame! She been voted The Knot’s “Best of Weddings” and Wedding Wire’s “Couples Choice Award” for five consecutive years since she launched her business. This places Robin in the top 5% of wedding planners in the San Francisco bay area!

Weddings are a 24/7 business, and Robin is passionate about her brides and grooms. She becomes family by the end of the planning process and loves every minute of it. When she is not planning a wedding, you can find her at her ranch in Patterson, CA with a menagerie of animals including two rescue goats, four horses (one of whom turns 30 in 2017!), two dogs and numerous barn cats who have found their way to Robin’s house. She is a competitive equestrian who enjoys the sport of dressage having earned her United States Dressage Federation Bronze Medal and Bronze Musical Freestyle Bar. Maybe the time and detail involved in riding dressage compliment the time and detail involved in planning a wedding!! She traveled to the London Olympics in 2012 to watch the United States compete in the Grand Prix Dressage finals. She is hoping to earn her USDF Silver Medal in the coming years!
