Three Months and Counting!!

I just returned from visiting one of my best friends whose daughter is getting married in July at the Marbella Country Club in San Juan Capistrano. We spent the weekend visiting the venue, walking through the ceremony and finalizing the details for this very exciting day! I love all of my couples but working with Casey, whom I have known since birth, is extra special. After all, she is the only other person I know who loves cake icing as much as I do!! Her finance, Michael, is just the guy I would have picked for her, and they already parent their year-old golden retriever, Bogey, very well! She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is like a daughter to me! Can’t wait, Casey!!

Cinderella Lives On!

Working with April and Brian was an amazing experience! From the moment we met, I was totally drawn in to the bride’s vision of a perfect Cinderella wedding. On a beautiful, clear February day, April arrived to her ceremony in a pumpkin coach pulled by two white horses. The doors opened, and she looked like Cinderella going up the aisle to meet her prince. The ring bearers carried pillows adorned with a glass slipper on top. Katrina Rozelle’s cake was tiers of baby blue fondant and ivory bows. Being a dance teacher, the couple’s first dance could have definitely happened at a royal ball. It was a magical day for a wonderful couple! And, as she exited the room up the dramatic staircase at the end of the evening, April didn’t lose one of her “glass slippers.” At the stroke of midnight, she was still a bride! Congratulations to Cinderella and to her Prince Charming…

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?

I can’t believe that it has been six months since Meriam and Trevor were married! We had such a wonderful time working together in the planning process. Meriam has a very detail oriented job, so I knew what she expected on her wedding day! We were like two peas in a pod. Trevor’s family came in from Ireland (and, no, Pierce Brosnan is not his brother!!), so the party started before the actual wedding day arrived! I felt welcomed into the mix more like a family member than their wedding planner. It was a beautiful wedding complete with Dunkin Donuts to match their color scheme. But, the highlight of the evening was when Meriam surprised EVERYONE (even me!), but bringing Trevor to the dance floor where she sang “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” to him while he nodded “yes” every time the refrain came up. I don’t think there were many dry eyes in the room! I will still love the two of you tomorrow and forever…

Third Generation San Francisco Meets U.K.

When I first met Gianna, I knew immediately that this was going to be a wedding filled with energy! She is from a large Italian family and is a third generation San Franciscan. Michael is British. Grace Cathedral was the perfect location for a traditional ceremony after having taken photos with the wedding party and family around this fantastic city! Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a wonderful dinner at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel. The Peacock Court stage came alive with the sounds of the New Soul Brigade flown in for the wedding. It was an amazing day and night… Gianna and Michael returned from their honeymoon just in time to enjoy the holidays as newlyweds! Happy New Year!!

The Charm of St. Gregory’s

Sharon and Azad’s day started with a lovely, intimate wedding ceremony at St. Gregory’s Armenian Church. If you have not experienced an Armenian ceremony, you need to! Immediately following the ceremony, guests headed to the historic Starlight Room for cocktails and greeted the couple. The view on this October day was amazing ~ and on the streets around Union Square, Halloween costumes were everywhere! Sharon and Azad celebrated with family and friends and danced the night away. And afterwards, they settled in as husband and wife in their brand new home!! It can’t get much better than this… It couldn’t happen to two nicer people. Congratulations!

From Mission Bay to Half Moon Bay!

Working with Robin and Sean to plan this wedding was a long distance venture! It seemed that every time they came to San Francisco from San Diego, I was not in town or busy with a wedding. It is the first wedding I have ever done where I actually did not meet the bride and groom until the wedding rehearsal ~ BUT, we talked so much by phone, that it felt like we were best of friends! The September heat wave from the week before subsided to produce wonderful weather for their outdoor wedding ceremony and cigar bar on the patio later in the evening. Robin provided cozy lap blankets for those who wanted to just sit by the fire after dinner. This was one of my favorite weddings of the year!

By the Bay in Monterey!!

Max was a groomsman at a wedding I did for a Stanford football teammate, and it was exciting to be able to do his wedding as well! The outdoor setting overlooking the otters and Monterey Bay was amazing! The ceremony was conducted by family members, and the bride’s father performed the traditional Islamic marriage ceremony, the Nikah, which made it very special. Sarah was a STUNNING bride, and the day was over way too quickly! Congratulations Max and Sarah!!

La Vie en Rose!

The best honeymoon ever in the City of Lights! Welcome home, Isabelle and Jason! It was a pleasure working with you…
